We know.  This is a crucial issue.  And a hard one to figure out.  These programs will help you get your ID card.  

Here are the requirements to get your ID card through the Driver's License Division

For US citizens:

Us birth certificate and social security card and address verification (this can be a letter from a shelter)

 

For non- citizens:

Passport and visa

 

So, the problem is when you do not have these things.  If this is you, this is what you need to do.

 

US citizens:

If you need to get a copy of your birth certificate:

The State Vital Records Office is located at 610 S. 200 E. SLC UT 84111

They are open from 8 AM- 5 PM and they take their last request at 4:45 PM

 

For totally disconnected people, you can call 1-801-538-6105 and explain your situation.  These are the people who can help you figure it out.

 

For non- citizens:

We recommend that you go through the Refugee & Immigrant Center - Asian Association of Utah
They are located at 155 South 300 West, Salt Lake City, Utah, 84101
And their phone number is 801-467-6060 

 

If you are going through the Life Program for other services, they will help you get your ID and they will pay the fees for you.
