What is unique about this program?  The counselor can act as a broker between you and the different benefits and services available to you through the Division of Workforce Services.
Is there anything I should know about this program?  Be patient and cheerful.  This is a big organization and it might be frustrating.  Just accept it and tell yourself that it won't be long before you will be living independently.  Think about how cool it is that this system exists for your benefit.  It's actually a pretty awesome system.

There are so many shelter programs in Utah.  The reason I name the YWCA is because they work with so many other shelters and can refer you out to another program if that is best.

Family Support

These are services meant to provide extra support to families:

The Family Support Center

This is an amazing program meant to provide support to parents and children.

The main line for questions etc is 801-955-9110

They are open from 8 AM to 5 PM but there is a 24 hour crisis line and crisis nursery (the West Valley location only is 24 hours).  What that means is that if you are an overwhelmed parent, you can give them a call and they will provide free childcare to give you and your kids a break.
